It's catering to meet your needs
Sunday Dinner at your grandmother’s house. Wasn’t that always the best?! Down in River Ridge at 101 Diane Ave at Grandma’s we could count on Red Gravy over angel hair or White Beans and Rice or Roast and Rice and Gravy. Warm French bread from Winn Dixie. Depending on a time of year, a slice of King Cake for dessert. At Nonnie’s on South Fairfax in Baton Rouge, it was Chicken Stew or Chicken Spaghetti or Roast and Rice and Gravy. And Nonnie Bread. All the Nonnie Bread. A slice of lemon cake for dessert.
These two laid the foundation for what has become The Roux Babe. The fundamentals. The don’t rush. Low and slow. Use real butter. Add garlic. More garlic.

We threw an epic and Mardi Gras party, The Roux Babe (catered), and her shrimp and grits dish was absolutely divine. Everyone raved about it. We asked for beignets and boy did she deliver. They were hot and fresh. People could not get enough of those. Coordination with her was easy and she was very mindful of my budget. She was flexible with us as far as payment was concerned because I had an issue on my side. I found out she not only does Cajun cuisine, but lots of other types of foods. I will be calling her again in the future.
